The IAFCS has developed the childproofing industry’s only professional certification program. The A-CPC designation recognizes those professionals who have met specific qualifications and criteria, and have proven through testing and client interaction that they possess the broad knowledge and experience required for certification.

The certification program incorporates safety standards and best practices related to injury prevention, safety products and installation. It demonstrates a commitment to the child safety industry, our belief in continual education and our high professional standards as a leader in the industry.

Howard Appelbaum successfully passed the Home Hazards Test, a benchmark examination for the professional childproofing industry. The HHT is based on a comprehensive curriculum that incorporates injury prevention information, trends and core childproofing concepts/techniques. Topics include General Home Safety; Burn, Fire & Electrical Safety; Choking, Suffocation, Strangulation & Entrapment Safety; Drowning & Water Related Safety; Safety from Falls; Poison Safety; and Safety from Tip-Overs.
